2015 “European Community” Competition for Young Opera Singers – 69th edition (Deadline: February 9th,2015)

Spoleto Experimental Lyric Theatre, together with Rome Opera Theatre and in collaboration with the Municipal Theatre of Bologna and the Theatre of the “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino”, has announced the 2015 “European Community” Competition for Young Opera Singers.
The competition is open to young people who on 1st January 2015 were under 32 years of age for sopranos and tenors, or 34 years of age for mezzo-sopranos, contraltos, baritones and basses.
Winners will be admitted to attend a 5-month Preparatory Course and will also be awarded a gross amount of EUR 5,000.00.
In addition, the “Cesare Valletti” Special Prize will be awarded. The Prize consists of a total amount of EUR 8,000.00 which will be awarded to the winning tenor who obtains the highest mark. In case no tenor wins the competition, the Prize will be shared by the first three winning singers (first winning singer: EUR 4,000.00; second winning singer: EUR 3,000.00; third winning singer: EUR 1,000.00).
The deadline for applications is Monday 9th February 2015.
