TBILISI (CAUCASUS PRESS 03-06-14). A group of Italian journalists from major publications in the tourist sector carried out a five day working visit to Georgia. The trip was organized by the Embassy of Georgia in Rome and the Georgian National Tourism Administration. In the framework of the visit, the journalists met with Ambassador of Italy to Georgia, Federica Favi.
Ambassador Favi highlighted the positive trend in bilateral relations, which will be further strengthened by increasing awareness among the Italian population of the unique combination of natural, cultural and historical treasures that Georgia has to offer. Ambassador Favi also highlighted the importance of the tourist sector for Georgia’s long-term economic prospects.
The group of journalists subsequently visited Georgia’s main cities and tourist sites, including Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Gori, Kazbegi, Batumi, Gonio and Uplistsikhe. The trip provided the basis for preparation of special reportages on Georgia, which will soon be published.
