Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is a Government institution, which acts under the Ministry of Economic Development of Italy and in close collaboration with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy. ITA promotes the internationalization of the Italian companies, in line with the strategies of the Ministry for Economic Development. ITA provides information, support and advice to Italian and foreign companies.
In addition to its Rome headquarters, ITA operates worldwide a large network of Trade Promotion Offices linked to Italian Embassies and works closely with local authorities and businesses.

ITA Regional Office in Baku for its Tbilisi Desk Office is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Consultant/Expert.

Appointment date: As soon as possible
Salary level: It will depend on the qualification and skills demonstrated during the test and interview
Duty station: ITA Office Tbilisi – Embassy of Italy in Georgia
The Consultant will report to the Director of ITA Baku Office and will follow the instructions of ITA Baku Director.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

(a) to actively focus on, screen and monitor the potentiality of Georgian market by reporting to ITA Baku on a monthly base;

(b) to draw reports on general outlook or any other aspect – duly instructed by ITA Baku – of Georgia and on specific fields/sectors of interest for the Italian industry on a monthly basis;

(c) to support Italian companies/persons/institutions in finding out market opportunities and local customers / partners;

(d) to assist missions of Italian companies participating to sectorial workshop and B2B meetings in Georgia and missions of Georgian delegations to Italy for attending trade fairs and/or workshop and B2B meetings;

(e) to assist with the building of relations with public or private institutions in Georgia,

(f) to inform ITA Baku with a monthly report related to the activities performed during the previous period and on -going.

Eligibility criteria – Education and experience:

Essential:
Fiscal residency and work permit in Georgia
Native Georgian speaker; Fluency in English, both written and verbal;
Italian language skills are an asset but not a prerequisite.
Working knowledge of Russian is an advantage
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree (Business, Economics, Finance etc.) and/or equivalent business or government relations experience
Relevant professional experience of at least 3 years, preferably from commercial management consultancy, private sector, donor organization, or international support programme.
Very good knowledge of local business environment , Knowledge of working with statistical information on export/import
dynamics , understanding of key market trends
Event management and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of private sector stakeholders such as local entrepreneurial community, chambers of commerce & industry and other SME support organizations
Effective communication, presentation and negotiation skills and ability to manage relations with local and Italian business community;
Strong writing skills;
Computer literate: excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point,
Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the ITA mandate, passionate about private sector development.
Multi-tasking, self initiative.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability and accompany and assist business and government delegations while travelling in Italy or internationally.

Note: This is a contracted position, governed by the Georgian law.
